A Winter’s Walk

Winter seems to have finally arrived here. In the early hours of yesterday morning the snow fell, a white blanket that covered everything. It turned into sleet and rain later on and it was very cold. I went for a walk, wrapping myself up warm, but I didn’t take any photos. I left that for today.

This morning I saw the sun rise – it was beautiful. The sky went pink first. Then as it rose its rays shined brightly between the trees and onto the snow that had turned into ice. I waited a few hours for some of it to melt before going for a walk. Here and there it was a bit slippy, so I took my time. I had my smart-phone on me again and took some lovely pictures. One of them is a picture of the same tree that I photographed in Autumn (see my post Autumnal Walk). What a difference only a few weeks make!
